Restaurante El Avda Mar, nestled in the scenic Av. del Mar of Costa Teguise, Las Palmas, is capturing the hearts of both tourists and locals alike. Recently opened, this charming Spanish eatery stands out amidst a sea of more generic dining options. Reviews herald the restaurant's expertly cooked dishes, particularly the Fillet Steak, praised by Mr. Phillips for its perfect medium-rare preparation. The restaurant’s offerings, such as the Cod Casserole and various grilled fish dishes, come highly recommended by regulars like Shraddha Bhagalia, who labels it a "hidden jewel."
Despite a straightforward ambiance reminiscent of a canteen, diners like TS Chong and Julie Boughton emphasize that the food far outweighs any aesthetic drawbacks. Although service might occasionally have its hiccups—like language barriers and menu mix-ups—the overall sentiment is clear: the flavors are exquisite, and the staff friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Rochelle echoed this sentiment, claiming the steak sandwich here is the best she has ever tasted, highlighting the fresh ingredients and reasonable prices.

Review highlights
Based on 34 reviewsRestaurante El Avda Mar is widely appreciated for its authentic Spanish cuisine, particularly its expertly cooked seafood casseroles and steaks. Guests frequently highlight the freshness and quality of the ingredients, with many noting perfectly seasoned dishes that stand out in a tourist-heavy area. The restaurant offers a warm and friendly atmosphere, supported by attentive and personable staff, although some communication challenges with newer servers have been mentioned. While the décor is simple and somewhat modest, patrons agree that the food quality and reasonable prices make it a worthwhile dining experience. Overall, the establishment is considered a hidden gem favored by both locals and visitors seeking genuine Spanish flavors in Costa Teguise.
Fantastic Steak Just dropped in as all, the other restaurants were very busy. I was met by lovely people who took their time to explain that they had only been open for 4 months. I asked for their recommendations and settled for the Fillet Steak. Which I asked for it to be cooked medium rare. The steak arrived cooked to perfection. What more can I say fantastic steak severed by fantastic people Thank you
This is such a sweet, simple spanish style tapas place in the middle of all the touristy restaurants on the strip.. The Cod Caserole is divine, the grilled fish dishes are perfectly cooked... We live locally and have lots of lovely leisurely evenings here. Always very plaseant and friendly service. A true hidden jewel.
We had the seafood casserole and cod casserole which were delicious. The surrounding is on the bare and canteen looking but the food is really worth having. Would go back again.
We ate here tonight. Waitress was new with very little English. We used some of our little Spanish we have, for still water for example and also pointed on menu but still got with gas. We ordered food, again trying to read the Spanish on the menu but also pointing to the dish on the menu. Freshly cooked food arrived approx half hour later which was completely different to what we had ordered. The chef came out to establish what we wanted and we waited a further half hour or so for it to be cooked. When it arrived it was delicious and we can't fault that. We were ravenous by then as it was about an hour and a half since we had arrived. Place is also cash only which wasn't a problem but worth mentioning. The couple next to us also got one of their dishes wrong but just ate it! Worth giving it a go but don't go when you are ravenous!
Found most places bland and hotel food was horrid so we popped in here chef was lovely and waitress Oma is a sweet heart we came here nearly every day for their steak sandwich fresh ingredients seasoned to perfection fast and friendly service probably the best sandwich I have ever eaten and the prices are amazing half the price of all the other places. I really hope to be back again as I am craving the steak sandwiches already. Thank you for your lovely hospitality as lovely food.
Fantastic food , it looks more cafe style however don’t judge it on how it looks as the food was fantastic , the chicken and potato with chilli and garlic tapas dish was amazing !
Lovely place but they did not have most of the things from the menu which means is off season and that's why. We tried the fish casserole with potatoes and toasted bread with cheese, delicious.
The food was so delicious. I had the sea bass and my young daughter had the spaghetti bolognaise. Both were superb! We also got complimentary garlic bread Highly recommend this little place!
